Stone work
These are a couple pictures of a job in Pittsburg, NH that has both natural stone and cultured stone. The natural field stone was used to build the floor of the hearth area. The walls were built by spacing pieces of cement backer board one inch off of the existing wall then laying the cultured stone over that. This was done to eliminate the direct heat transfer from the masonry to the original finish wall.
